​Rooted and Grounded is dedicated to supporting a young child’s love of learning. Services provide early childhood educators and parents with pragmatic, easy to implement, research based ideas to foster learning. All seminar and workshop content includes:

Joining brain-based research with the role of developmental pathways (ages and stages) in the learning process of each child

Supporting play as the essential vehicle for the development of critical thinking in the young child

Acknowledging that each child is a unique creation of a loving Heavenly Father
Cathie Broocks brings 35 years in education as a teacher, administrator and consultant to this firm. Most recently she served as the Director of Admissions at a large, private, JK-12 school. In this position, she not only evaluated students and assisted with grade placements, she had the opportunity to hear the heart song of parents and teachers, “How do we best prepare young learners?” Rooted and Grounded seeks to partner with both groups to explore, and design creative answers to this essential question.
Mrs. Broocks’ experience includes:

Teacher to 3’s, 4’s, Pre-K and Kindergarten

Youth Director and Preschool Director in two church settings

Assistant Director and Director of Admissions, 2 independent schools (JK-grade 12)

Twice served under gubernatorial appointment, Virginia Commission for Children and Youth, Commonwealth Intern Program (including assignments for Secretary of Human Services, Department of Mental Health and Mental Retardation and Division of Equal Employment Opportunity Commission)
